Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
I had Pic #1 and #2 but not #3 and it was the AOS.

I thought I had a leak at the head gasket, so I took his advice and cleaned the engine underside.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As the erie driving time comes to a close. I am starting to get my parts list together to order up. Feel free to speak up if you think I am overkill or not enough.
I am going to do:
The AOS, I think it **might** be leaky
Starter, Is starting to hang and never did crank the car very well this summer.
I have a leak I think is coming out a spark plug hole So plug tubes? (see pix)
While I am there I am going to do plugs and coil packs
While I have the cans off I am going to take them to the local custom exhaust shop and have they little bypass tube put in.
I am going to try to track down another leak too... Take a look at the pix and give me your opinion on that it is
Pix 1
is of the rear passenger side of the engine. As you see it is pretty wet. Any known trouble spots up there?
Pix 2
is of the driverside front of the engine right above the tensioner. Just a caked on mess. It used to be wet. Now its just a greasy mess. Maybe coming from my AOS? or is this left over from my RMS that was leaking?
Pix 3
, Appears a spark plug tube is leaking? Yes? No?
I think that cleaning it would be first priority then recheck. As far as the oil tubes go I would replace all the O-Rings.
Make sure your crawler has a headrest for napping under there also.
What I would do
Go to a self service car wash when they are not busy, late at night works well. Bring about 4 2x12 pcs of cut lumber to stack and back up on. It will raise the rear up 3". Use degreaser spray the engine under the car liberally, use a headlight so you can see what you're doing. Wait a few minutes for the degreaser to penetrate and spray heavy areas again. Feed in what would have been about 3 months allowance when you were 10 in quarters and blast away.
Doing a recent clean will help you determine what is now leaking and to what degree and what was leaking and is no longer. Check out the car a few days after the clean and decide your plan of attack. Hope this helps.
Pic 2 is how mine looked when I had a bad AOS boot - only the boot was broken, not the AOS, but it misted oil that turned to into that gunk.
Nick gave me the same advice. I thought I had a leak at the head gasket, so I took his advice and cleaned the engine underside. I spent a lot more time on it than just at the car wash, although I did that too. With mine, I had to scrub after the degreaser, rinse, spray more, let it sit, scrub, and rinse.....until it was clean.
I don't know if Nick's cleaning tips have some magic, but since I cleaned everything about a month ago the 'leak' is gone. It is bone dry (and I've driven it and checked for any leak every day).
It has made it really easy to see what might be leaking after I cleaned it up, so I appreciated his advice and I'd recommend it.

Pic 1: Could be the seal on the cam advance solenoid, they leak all the time, or it could be the tube from the AOS that connects above this area. If the AOS is going bad they tend to show oil in this area.
Pic 2: Probably the AOS, clean the area and watch for new oil.
Pic 3: Probably the spark plug tube.
with winter coming you might want to leave that oil on there to prevent any rust from forming after they salt the roads
oil is cheap... fixing it costs money and time.....
