I am thinking of buying a basic Cayenne to replace another SUV, but I will definitely wait to test drive one first.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i see lots of suv's listed on listmember's vehicles
i think all suv's are ugly but cayenne is more attractive than most of this ugly breed look at the merc ml series--ugliness did not stop this thing from becoming m-b's best seller even with awful quality control
imo,the bmw x5 is almost as ugly but is also their best seller.
our countrymen love these damn trucks imo, porsche is right to take the plunge. i hope that it creates enough profits for them to get back into racing after they win the dakar rally
Ignacio,
I am on a quest to eliminate the F150 pickup truck we have from our fleet!
It is uncomfortable and has no power. I would like to replace it with the X5 4.4 or perhaps the Cayenne, hence I will test drive the beast.
We need something that we can go anywhere in, can tow the skiboat and can handle some inclement weather (California skiiers).
Combine the Cayenne Turbo's drive train / chassis /interior with the BMW X5 4.6i's sleek aggressive exterior and you have a sale. Unfortunately , the Cayenne's platypus face and "supersized VW Golf" body gets uglier every time I see it. The Paris show pics ( first ones not taken by Porsche marketing ) look just as homely.
i think all suv's are ugly but the cayenne is at least more distinctive. to me the x5 looks like an overpriced toyota fourunner. i'll bet the cayenne looks better in person than in photos. in any case not even porsche can turn a pig into a race horse!
I am thinking of buying a basic Cayenne to replace another SUV, but I will definitely wait to test drive one first. The pricing looks OK providing the base model is sufficiently optioned. This is not the car to boost the price by 20% with options. Other alternative is probably the X5.
I'm hoping I can test-drive the Ceyenne sometime in Nov. when the demo gets here. I've ordered a Ceyenne S and I'm looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about
IMHO, I think it's going to be one of, if not, the best SUV out there
By the way, mine will be Lapis blue with grey inside and it's fully optioned with 20" wheels among other things, so I know it'll look stunning
saw mill-
imo adding 20% to price of any car in options is foolish because virtually none of this price will be recouped at resale. perhaps if money were no object...
so i'll be the (lone?) voice of desent (sp)...
i do not plan to test drive the chili pepper. i regret the day porsche made the decision to introduce an suv. if it had been announced before i bought my car, i probably would not have bought a 911. to draw engineering resources away from evolving the 911 line to build an suv is a travesty imo.
sorry for the rant; i'm done!
