Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
A good solution but on the 996 there really isn't any more room behind the driver's set once it's all the way back.
Leading evidence: 'Set once it's all the way back' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set once it's all the way back' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Request any ideas on achieving about another 1 to 2 inches of headroom. I am 6 foot - six inches tall and my head is just slightly touching the convertible top (obviously when raised!!).
1. Does anyone offer different seat brackets that retain the original seat functionality. I have power standard seats.
2. What aftermarket seats would fit a gentleman with a 42 inch waist and 54 inch chest? Most I have seen only look like Tom Cruise would fit!!
Thanks.
i'm sorry to say that i think you are too big for a 911. i think a boxter offers better headroom but i'm not sure you'de be comfortable in any sports car. maybe you should consider an amg benz? the c32 coupe or new e55 are both nice cars with bigger interiors.
i hate to say it but maybe the cayenne would fit you better

Also, try the Gelaendewagen, you should have 4" clearance in that MB.
Hey, Johnny B: I am tall and heavy (not as tall as you), but my dealer told me to order the manual sport seats because there is a greater range of manual movement and the seats do sit lower in the vehicle. That may be too late for you, but worth checking out for your next Pcar.
I'm 6'5" with a 34" waist and 48" chest. The sport seats will not be comfortable for you. Your shoulders are too broad. I have an '02 turbo with the sunroof which gives me about 1-2" of headroom. I have the seat all the way back and as low as I can adjust it. You may also want to recline the seat as far back as as you can before it gets too uncomfortable. These are the only solutions I can suggest. I stopped by my dealer a while ago and there was a turbo that was owned by a pro basketball player. He is 6'8" and apparantly does not have a problem.
Too bad you must sift thru the wisea*s comments before you get to something sensible.
The Boxster may have adequate headroom but legroom is really inadequate. My wife has one and I rarely drive it.
I'm 6'5", 52" chest, 42 waist and I drive a 2001 C2 Cab. I'm always looking for options that will give me more head and leg room too. With the seat all the way back, down and reclined I've got ok headroom (not touching but perhaps 2-3") leg room is a bit more of a difficult situation. It's not ideal but it does work ok for me. There's no way I'll ever be able to heel-toe since my knees are up at the dash.
However my P-car actually has more driver space than my S-Type Jaguar. I did find a German performance company that made extended rails for the S-Type driver's set. A good solution but on the 996 there really isn't any more room behind the driver's set once it's all the way back.
If you wanna see an impossilbly tight fit check out the Jaguar XK8 or XKR, must be made only for TV/Flim actors!
