This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

so im having the ims ln bearing done, and the rear main seal. I just got a call from the tech and my clutch is in need of replacing. the fly wheel has wear on it, but i opted to skip that on replacing cause its an extra $1000. ah, and i still need to replace the struts
It's going to cost you more for them to go in and do it again. You would be best to get them to replace it at the same time since they have the engine and transmission apart.
Thats why I go ahead and add that into my price up front and replace it anyway. In the past year I've only let one car leave without a new clutch when doing an IMSR.. Discs are worn beyond 60% by 40K miles in these cars. They may go over 100K but they take the flywheel with them when they go.
My flywheel was toast but my clutch was in top notch condition when I did the IMS and RMS.
The car drove much better after the flywheel change. I suppose the degradation of the flywheel was so gradual, I did not even feel it.
the tech said the fly wheel just has some wear, not any to be alarmed at. anyways ya. ill have to take the $1500 hit on the flywheel once it starts to chatter later.
op were you looking for 19" 997 Carrera S rims? I swear I saw a thread that you started earlier today in the 997 forum, but now I can't find it. I have a set if you need them.
'dudes. srsly. Strut replacement on a 986/996/987/997 is cake.
What suspensders are you going with op? My 987 Boxman 3.4 has PSS9's and its pretty tasty. otoh my 997 S has the factory pasm with H & R lowering springs and I kinda like that too.
Pfft, I can do a clutch on a 996 in 4 hours with a nice lunch in the middle of it, hit me up if anybody needs one in the Raleigh, NC area.
I'm working on a very nice 996 twin turbo x50 next week (well over 500hp when done), welcome the locals to drool over it, pending the permission of it's (Rennlist member) owner of course.
