Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Installed BLI shifter **** and boot. 180 wrong way. Seam is facing towards me. Already attached coin. Sour to say the least cause cant remove coin to save my life without tearing up the ****. Any thoughts? Remove coin?

POST 2Original post

Reckon this process would remove the coin without damaging it ? I do You Tube See if you can find your local PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) guy and ask him to glue a plug to the coin and pull it out for you.

POST 3Original post

Neat idea! I bought a cheapish PDR kit on Amazon a year or so back to pull a dent on our pickup. (Unlike 99.6% of Americans, we use our truck as a truck and don't fuss over the small stuff.) I don't know if they are all the same but the kit uses glue sticks that can be found in hobby shops and hardware stores everywhere. OP might want to try using a glue stick gun to attach a screw or other object that can be grabbed with pliers.

I'd leave it alone unless you're willing to take the risk of damaging it further out of frustration. Personally, I think it looks great. The seam on the grip follows the seam on the boot.

POST 5Original post

Looks good man. Dont f it up with more tinkering.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

appreciate saying so. Ill let it go and leave. Thanks for encouragement folks. I guess if ended up at like 3 or nine oclock Id be super upset.

POST 7Original post

I have the same shift **** and I twisted the top leather part ccw and it unthreaded the screw then the top part with the coin can be spun til its almost tight, then spin the leather part cw unit the seam lines up where you want it. Its a bit of trial and error until everything is good. You can tighten it pretty tight and the coin holds the screw so they turn together.

The **** can be easily disassembled according to this video from BFI: Vimeo

There ya go! Nice display of Google fu.

POST 11Original post

I might do this soon on mine, and I'd put the seam in the same place for some reason it feels right.
