Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have always used hardened steel studs with copper plated nuts, it's pretty rare that I break a bolt with that mix.
Leading evidence: 'Use hardened steel studs' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace spark plugs, tubes, coils' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used some penetrating oil the day before I did the job.

I just completed this install as I was changing spark plugs, tubes, coils on my 99 c2.

Once you have the best materials, life is too short to use less quality stuff.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've had to take my exhaust manifolds off and on more times than I'd care to admit over the past few months trying to fix a cat converter efficiency light and this most recent time, I finally caved and bought this kit. I now feel like an idiot for not doing it sooner. It makes reinstallation of the headers so much easier. Obviously, titanium is great in that it won't corrode as easily from the environment, but there is still reason to expect that galvanic corrosion will happen over time. The kit is expensive for what it is, but aside from that, I'd recommend it pretty highly.

I just completed this install as I was changing spark plugs, tubes, coils on my 99 c2. I did feel lucky to get the existing bolts out as they were really corroded. I used some penetrating oil the day before I did the job. The only challenge is getting the manifolds back on after detaching from the catalytic converters. You lose the wiggle room you have to slide back over the carriage bolts so you have to loosen the cat mounting bolts and play with it. Maybe folks know of another trick to make that easier because it was really fiddly.
if you have to take the manifolds off to do a job I still think this is a better way to go. Pricy but how much would it cost to get a shop to drill out a broken bolt and install a heli coil or retap the threads.
I have always used hardened steel studs with copper plated nuts, it's pretty rare that I break a bolt with that mix. I am not a fan of Ti into Al without a good anti-seize paste, actually I am not a fan of Ti much at all for automotive fasteners based on what I have seen with Ti aero fasteners.
+1 about good anti-seize.
Then again, I don't do anything on the exhaust or anything involving steel into Al without good copper anti-seize. I like the Lubri-Moly copper stuff.
What are the stock bolts made out of?
Once you have the best materials, life is too short to use less quality stuff.
Especially on exhaust, you want something that can withstand red-hot temps and extreme cycling.
Some kind of mild steel. They rust pretty good given the location and the heat cycles. Plus they thread directly into aluminum which makes me nervous in and of itself. Too much of a risk of buggering up one of the holes and having to drill/tap the head.
