This is what I bought 4 years ago and used on my Boxster wheels.

Who is running 17" wheels/tires on their 996 wide body for winter time?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Who is running 17" wheels/tires on their 996 wide body for winter time? What tires are you running, and what size?
I'm about to shelve the 18" twists to get refinished for fair weather use and have some 17s to use for the winter. Having a bit of trouble finding snow tires.
Thanks, as ever.
Doesn't look like much on on the market right now in 17 or 18 snow tires without getting funky with wheel sizes. May come down to all seasons that are good in the snow.
For winter I am running a stock 996 17" wheel setup with the stock recommended size Pirelli SottoZero's. My C4 (non S) runs good in the snow and sleet with those shoes on.
I'm hoping to pick my snows up tomorrow. 215/50/17 front; 245/45/17 rears. Vredestein Wintrac Pro to be mounted on Braid Rallycross 17s, which looks a lot like what
@ex-skibum
has. I'll post up photos once they're mounted.
I did, and they work just fine. No fitment issues with the 17" Braid "Rallycross" wheels over the factory rotors. The tires are a little skinny, but they should be good in the snow.
I did end up putting 26mm worth of Elephant Racing spacers today to push the rear wheels out to a more acceptable fender depth. I run long wheel studs anyway so I had plenty of room.
