The car was covered in dust so it was hard to tell how the paint condition was but it looked decent (I checked a few spots with quick spray detailer).

I ran a paint meter on it and most panels were 4-6 mils but I did find an area of bondo on the front driver side indicating an undisclosed accident by the PO which also explained why the front right headlight was clear and the passenger side was yellowed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

New to the forums but I decided to come on here to see if this is a fair value: 1999 C2 in Vesuvio with Aerokit doesn't run but engine cranks body, trans, and engine have 218,000 miles The seller is asking $12,000 and as of today it looks like its pending. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1536630883518448/?mibextid=6ojiHh

POST 2Original post

I'm local and checked it out last week. It's not an XAA from factory. The rear wing is OEM but the front bumper is fiberglass and has bumper scrape all the way through on both sides. Plus side of it being fiberglass is that it probably isn't too difficult to repair. The car was covered in dust so it was hard to tell how the paint condition was but it looked decent (I checked a few spots with quick spray detailer). The car has been resprayed and I don't think it was a windows out respray. Interior looks like it has had 218K miles. I ran a paint meter on it and most panels were 4-6 mils but I did find an area of bondo on the front driver side indicating an undisclosed accident by the PO which also explained why the front right headlight was clear and the passenger side was yellowed. The current owner was nice and seemed like an enthusiast. For me, when I tallied the costs of getting the interior into good condition and finding a donor engine with doing all of the work myself plus the cost of turbo twists, it was getting too close to what the XAA Vesuvio Metallic traded for back in September on BAT. I figured I'd be into it in the high 20s and someone got a relatively low miles factory XAA for $38K.

POST 5Original post

I forgot to mention, the engine was previously rebuilt back around low 100k miles so this is the second time the engine has failed.

Thank you very much Ryan. I was very interested in this car and was trying to see if I could source an engine but 12k and even 8k feels way to pricy for this car and I doubt the seller would go down to 5-6k

POST 7Original post

if it came with the original wheels the lobster claws could make up the difference on ebay. but they're probably replicas given the rest of the mods.
