Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I almost ordered one the year I finished undergrad but I went for a test drive with the dealer's unit and it rattled going over bumps.

However there are not many places to use its potential on Oahu plus it did kind of stand out.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I may take some heat for this but was just curious.
My 996 shares space with a C6 Z06, that is also very close to my heart. They couldn't be more different, but both offer immense driving pleasure.
Anyone else fond of Porsche's biggest rival on the racetrack?
Of the three favorite cars I've owned, C5 Corvette convertible that had a ton of ZO6 parts including engine, my gorgeous BMW 850 CSi with a Motorsport spoiler kit all around with seriously deep dish rims and my beloved 996 Cabriolet, I must admit the C5 has a special place in my heart. As a result of retiring and downsizing, I gave the C5 to my son to continue the legacy but his vision is a little different than mine (modifications that he wants to make although I did a ton of modifications) - oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I believe a C8 is in my future.
I had a C7 Grand Sport before the 996. Great car, quick with very good handling. However there are not many places to use its potential on Oahu plus it did kind of stand out. Got tired of driving it at 10% of its capability. I went almost a year without a replacement but then my 2003 coupe popped up. I took it on as a project since it did have a few maintenance issues. I like the "under the radar" feel to it while driving as well as its handling even though it needs a suspension refresh.
I almost ordered one the year I finished undergrad but I went for a test drive with the dealer's unit and it rattled going over bumps. Just totally turned me off on it. There was also a bit of a storage problem for trips with GF(s).....So I passed...never looked back. A couple of years back recently I rode as a passenger in a friend's new Corvette. Once again I was totally unimpressed. Comfortable seats but I could close my eyes and imagine I was in a Lincoln Town Car. Smooth, quiet big V8. Just didn't sound or feel like a sports car......
To each his own.......
Yup. You can probably tell from my handle here - vetfever. I have owned Corvettes for a long time. - owned 8 or 9 over the years.
I consider the Vette and 911 the two icons of the sports car world because of their longevity.
Bought a 2009 C4 a few years ago, and currently have a 2007 Turbo and 2001 Carrera. Current Corvette is a 2008 Z, Cooksey edition.
I'm a fan.
I've had several friends who have owned them, but have never owned one myself.
I worked on several Corvettes though.
If I were to purchase one, it would either be a C6 Z06 or a C8 Stingray.
But any additional cars for me will likely be Porsches.

I had a 2005 C6 that was bolt-on modded before the 996. It was a fun car, but EVERYONE had one.... I do think its the best bang for the buck on the market with regards to its power.
I had a 2002 C5 Z06 with A&A supercharger kit a for a short period. Super fun street car. 315s all around and the complete LG motorsport suspension catalog made it handle well.
I got rid of it for a couple reasons though. On track, seeing 243 degree water temps and 300 degree oil temps gives you some real anxiety as a driver. I was told that's acceptable which seemed crazy to me. This was with a huge aluminum radiator with oil cooler and a vented hood too. It didn't fit my driving style. I like in a 911 that you can get on throttle sooner because of all the rear end grip. In the C5, it had too much torque with the S/C. Even when you geared up every corner. If you tried to get on throttle mid corner, you're drifting the exit. 115mph power slides are cool and all but since I became a dad, I started second guessing myself if I "needed" that much car. My friend's Radical SR3 felt safer than the C5 on track. Lol!
That's being said, I'd still like to own a C6 Z06. I liked the Corvette experience but it may have been ruined due to the S/C. I'd like to see what high HP N/A is about.
