Got my car back from body shop after extensive r&r and my abs and psm lights on. Cruise won�t work. Codes said brake switch. I�ve replaced the brake switch, no changes. Brake lights work fine. Clutch switch shows it�s working when I actuate it. Brake switch one says closes, brake switch 2 says open. Not changes when I hit the pedal or put emergency up and down. Anyone got any ideas?

Two thoughts - is it possible that a speed sensor or the connecting wiring got bumped, broken or misloged? it possible that body work sanding dust is coating the sensors? I�d try blowing the brake assembly out and then shooting brake cleaner in there. Then Clear the codes ans see if it persists. I had the first scenario happen after having my tires replaced. They knocked and already damaged sensor loose (that was glued in by a previous owner/shop!?!?!) and it was throwing codes.

Well is not seeing the "open" side of the switch so it sounds like a wiring or connector pin issue. It appears that the 'closed' side is working and that why the brake lights turn on im pretty sure its a 12v fed by fuse b7 signal that passed through the switch what year car? on a 2004 the open wire off the brake switch (bl/rd) goes to pin 36 of the abs controller and pin 37 of the psm if u have it u need to check continuity

It could also be a defective new brake light switch. I tried three before I found one that worked.

On a '99 drawings its the same color wire pin 46 on the psm computer pin J on the cruise control modual pin 20 on the c4 e-gas it realy seams like its still the switch. In the past others have switched out the clutch switch instead of the brake switch by accident?
