Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Justin could rebuild that 3.4 to a 3.8 using LN Nickies.

Its an e gas engine so I will have to use my throttle on it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No problems with my engine, but before these rebuilt engines go to the moon in price, Im thinking about buying a spare rebuilt engine. Anyway, I can get a 3.6 for about $1k more than a 3.4. The question is , will it mount on my 99 car, will my Dme run it correctly, yes I know I have to install my current cable throttle, which I probably will bore out if I get the 3.6. Any feedback, suggestions and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Bad idea, it would be slightly less work then putting in a gt3 motor. Although the blocks r similar they changed a ton of stuff. U would need changes to the fuel, coolant, wiring and dme systems.
Appreciate your knowledge. Thanks a bunch. My mechanic would be doing the work but I just wanted a straight drop in. Anyway the 3.4 that Im looking at had headwork done, so its probably going to flow better.
I taught about that, anyway FSI told me April 2023 and $32k for that. Im going a different route. I previously owned for 7 years a 04 R32 total HPA build twin turbo 695 WHP with 104 race fuel. I need to talk to my mechanic but Im leaning towards a rebuilt 3.4 just to have a spare. The rest of the money is going to go for a saltwater pool in the house, Thanks

He learned from Jake at a hands on class, so he should be able to do a great job.
Doing 3.8 Nickies is the same price as 3.4, except youll likely need tuning.
You already have (or soon will) all the mods youd need.
Justin is my mechanic that squirrel Introduced me to. Super sharp and was previously part owner of a Porsche repair shop. Ill say hes strong on boxsters 996 and 997. Anyway im going to his place in a couple of weeks, 3.8 airbox and fabspeed x pipe install.
Bruce , Im thinking about buying a rebuilt 3.4, with headwork already done (port and polish) new main and rod bearings, new lifters, chains, pads, rings, inyectors, and AOS. I may be missing something, it this is a pretty nice deal in my opinion. Its an e gas engine so I will have to use my throttle on it.
