Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Greetings all,
I'm nearing the end of my journey with my 2001 996.1. The plan is in January to finally paint the car, and to hopefully complete the conversion from Mk 1 regular front end to Mk 2 Aerokit front end.
I just want to ensure I have all the items I need.
I have the following:
1) Mk 2 Aerokit front bumper
2) Mk 2 Front fenders
3) Mk 2 front headlights
4) Mk 2 headlight trays
Is there anything else that I'm missing? I'm assuming all the fender liners and such should all line up accordingly? Has anyone done this and run into some snags?
Thanks for all of your help in advance!
-Matt
The harness plugs r different for the lights. If u get the mk2 pig tail for the lights u can splice them in. I was able to go the other direction and get mk1 lights spliced into a mk2 harness.
not sure if the plastic support pieces under the bumper are different.
look under the body tab and see if the pet drawings show a difference

Lots of good information and part #s in this thread. This is taking a 986 Boxster to a 996.2 front end. Most of the info you need is here.

Here's another thread documenting the car at the shop doing the work. More good info.

Why the change from 996.1 to 996.2 front end?
I know why people did it years ago to make the front look like a newer car, but now the difference in age really doesn’t matter any more.
Do you just prefer the 996.2 over 996.1, or is there another reason?
Seems like a huge expense.
I had bought all the pieces for a Mk 2 Aerokit conversion when I just had the C2, so I wanted to give it a try. I'm painting both the Mk 1 and 2 pieces so I can change back and forth.
That makes sense.
I had a coworker once ask me how many 911s I had because I’d changed headlights and spoiler a couple of times on my car.
Now add wheels, headlights, and 3 spoiler choices and it looks like I have several 911s. .
All pics of the same car.
All easily swapped out in under 30 minutes…except the side skirts.
