When I get underneath the engine while it's running, I can't hear it, only from above.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently replaced my engine mounts, and the ride is definitely much smoother, but now I've noticed a "clicking" sound at idle that I don't recall hearing before. Could there be a connection? Maybe it was there before and I just didn't notice it, or couldn't hear it good enough. Is this the "bore score" clicking, or something else? When I get underneath the engine while it's running, I can't hear it, only from above. Here's a short phone video of the sound: Clicking sound Thanks! Mike

POST 3Original post

The ticking sounds like your fuel injectors, which is totally normal. Was the engine fully warmed up when you shot the video?
