Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Scary. What if the bearing fails? What if the engine falls out? What the trans explodes? What if the left front tire is low on air? Waiting to hear back, and biting my nails. I hammered him on price. I mean I lowballed, discounted, busted him, and really put the screws in deep! Meh - not really, I offered a little under asking price. Pins and needles. Wish me luck! Or - tell me to go eff myself.

POST 2Original post

How about wishing you luck effing yourself? Just make sure you get the blinker fluid changed ASAP and you should be ok.

POST 4Original post

Good luck. I am still amazed that you can get a car of this caliber at the prices they are going for....

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's why I'm shopping for a 996 now. I think the 996 market has hit it's nadir. It will never be a 930 due to the issues with the engines and due to the numbers made, but I believe things will level off. May even go up slightly given enough time. For the next ten years or so, these cars are going to be a heck of a bargain, particularly for the guy who doesn't mind a little grit under the fingernails.

POST 7Original post

Although the dreaded weaknesses are always on my mind i never feel disapointed when i run that tach past 4k. Good stuff!

POST 8Original post

Well go eff yourself if you're making an offer on that AE at PlanoJag

Since I don't see any emoticons, I guess you mean business. So, I can add you to the ignore list, and then don't have to see your effing posts anymore. OBTW, before you go, from the 40AE thread mentioned just today: "I understand. I am so torn on it I almost wish one of you would buy it. " Not really a grant the wish kind of guy, but I could be arm-twisted. Looks like I could make a few thou by Feb. maybe. Really don't need the aggravation of going to - Drano/Plano.

I think he was joking and jealous if you were buying 40 AE in Plano. As the OP of the Plano 40 AE...The price seems so right on it that you could paint it whatever color you want.

POST 11Original post

Doc - Wow, you've been looking since before I started my search last March. If it's that 40th AE, that is a great deal. You've been dealing with a 928 - the 996 is going to be a piece of cake. Even though I like my 928, it sits on the 4 post lift or in the museum all the time. The 996 is just . . . better.

Gratuitous 928 content: You're doing it wrong! Most guys in TX put plenty of miles on their 928s. Also, a lot of them are weekend cars around the country. git-er-done.
