Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I was doing my research on OBD diagnostic tool and decided to purchse iCarsoft CR PRO which is the highest model from iCarsoft and other than Porsche it supports many brands.
I was able to get to the DME module but unfortunately on my 996 MKI I am not able to see engine hours or overrevs.....
Could anyone recommend what other diagnostic tool than
DURAMETRIC EASY FAULT AND ECU READER
to use to get to overrevs and engine hours?
Thanks
I have Durametric and it is great. That being said, this one says it will read the ECU information (along with other resets and such). Could check with ECS. They are very helpful. You do have to register the unit and download the specific software for Porsche.

Foxwell has a list of car model specific functions listed on their website. I did not see over rev's listed anywhere. Regardless, I ordered a unit yesterday.
Foxwell NT530/520 will pull DME overrev info on a 997. I sold my 996 before I purchased the Foxwell NT530 but I have pulled overrev readings on my 997.2. I know this doesn't answer the specific question about the 996 generation, but Foxwell can ready overrevs. iCarsoft POR 2 does not.....I also own one of those.
