Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Obviously, this is not a pre-purchase inspection checklist. This is a pre-qual list that is required before installing an LN Engineering retrofit IMS bearing. What exactly are you looking for? Like a buyer's guide or a detailed list that a Porsche shop would use as a guide or check list when providing PPI services?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I should have been more clear. I feel this prequal is the perfect PPI checklist for a 996 buyer The biggest investment in a 996 (or any car) is the engine and this prequal is specific to a 996. It checks all the boxes to determine a solid platform or not. I suspect the cost of this PPI would be prohibitive for a buyer. But, maybe not if prices continue to rise??? And, if a seller chose to make this investment it may help a seller make top $$$ on bat. Just throwing it out there for conversation.

POST 4Original post

There's a lot more that can go wrong with any car than just the engine (and cost more combined than the engine).

No that is not a throughout PPI. It does not address, power windows, defroster, seats, steering, brakes, shocks, motor mounts, lighting system, tires, paint body work. It is not even close. If you want the answers to these questions, just get a hold of LN, they might have the records of a IMSB upgrade.

POST 7Original post

Here is the checklist that Porsche dealerships use to certify their pre-owned vehicles. Unfortunately, there is no invasive inspection (e.g. borescope of cylinders) of the engine.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
