Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

36 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

New to the place but I have a 2009 corvette and I'm thinking about trading it in for a 2002 911 turbo. Always wanted a Porsche but had a corvette itch first so I went with it. Had fun with it but always have the Porsche on my mind. What would you guys do? Help me out! Turbo has 38k miles.

POST 2Original post

Measure twice and cut once. Lots of cars around...drive a bunch of them so you have some seat of the pants experience and comparisons. Start looking for who will be your wrench when you buy the car and have that person do the PPI if the car is local. It is better to buy a car in great shape than to buy a cheap car and spend a fortune fixing it up. Have fun hunting.

POST 3Original post

Maintenance cost will go up. Rent a Porsche for a day 1st.

POST 4Original post

Link to the car? Need to see what you are looking at. Vettes are great and deserving in their own right, but the overall package of the turbo is unbeatable. My dad is a Vette guy and on his first drive in my turbo he was shocked by how much more he enjoyed it over his 09 Vette. It's a great car and the fact vettes are a dime a dozen only makes the Porsche stand out more.

POST 6Original post

That's a well optioned car, it's got the Aerokit which looks great and means you won't have to worry about spoiler Rams leaking. It's priced aggressively esp for a dealership. Do the usual, carfax, and ppi at another Porsche Indy and if checks out bye bye Vette. I've got the same color car and it looks even better in person.

POST 7Original post

Very nice looking car! I've had all the Vettes, but nowadays mine are '70 or older. The TT looks great, good luck.

POST 8Original post

after 30 years of corvettes [last one was an 07 z] it was time to slow down.................................................................... ............so i bought a porsche

POST 9Original post

Quotes source post: 12246224

I would buy that if I were in the market.

POST 10Original post

What a gorgeous car, that color combo is outrageously beautiful, and it is reasonably priced. Go in strong and I bet you could get it even cheaper.

POST 11Original post

Nice car! I would swap a Corvette for that any day. (Don't get me wrong, I like Corvettes too!) It's a bit older than your Corvette. Do you do any of your own maintenance and repair work? If not, the dealership can get expensive. Since it is a bit older that's just something to consider.

POST 12Original post

I've had many vettes, they are to common, good car but to common. If I were you I woud jump on that Porsche before its gone. Pretty low miles and its a turbo, you are crazy if you don't lock it up unless somethings wrong with it.

POST 13Original post

Very nice turbo. The factory aero kit is uncommon and the color on that car is great. Good luck!

POST 14Original post

Uhm. No. Its a tiptronic and overpriced. Definitely go for the early 2k turbos. They are probably one the best values in used P cars today. Take your time, haggle hard and there are great deals out there.

^^^+2! also, like someone else said you see a vette on Every other corner (& a lot of times it's a 70 yr. old woman driving) ! There is definitely going to be a BIG Difference, just make sure you drive it enuff to make sure that's what you want! & the Turbo's hold they're Price a lil' better than the non-turbos but i also agree with it being priced aggressively esp for a Dealership! MAKE SURE you get the PPI! these cars have soooooo many Other Issues than a Vette & it's NEVER just a bulb or fuse! GL!

POST 31Original post

I sold a bolt-on C5FRC for a 996C2. C2 was a better DD, but slow compared to the C5, so I picked up a Turbo, which solved that problem.Turbo with a tune will put it at the same power level as an LS3 C6. It will be more comfortable too. Do it.

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 12247987

You like the turbo more than your vette?

POST 33Original post

Yes, in every way. FYI, a 996 on coilovers is far more comfortable than a C5/C6 lowered on bolts.

POST 34Original post

Let the following further enhance the turbo justification:
