Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I run the car with the compressor off no water after.
Leading evidence: 'Run car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check drains' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If with all of the above you start to smell a bit of an odor change the cabin air filter.

Suggestion
As for the A/C system and evaporator: I make it a habit to if I have been running the A/C to switch off the compressor a few miles from my final destination to give time for the evaporator to dry/shed some of it water.

Suggestion
Based on what you wrote: essentially water under the car after it has sat a while after running the car (and the A/C) and none after if the A/C ("compressor") not run; the water is condensation from the A/C evaporator.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This is a real question. After parking the 996 there is a huge puddle under the car when I come back. It's water. The windshield washer is full. When I run the car with the compressor off no water after. I know some is normal - especially in hot weather. But the weather is not hot and no other cars are doing this now. And I've been driving the car for 2 years and this is new.
So is there a blocked drain? If there is a thread on this I can't find it.

This is normal. Even if it is not that hot, humidity in the air can really have the thing sweating like a pig before a July 4th BBQ.
Dip a white paper towel in the water. If the water is clear almost certainly it is from the evaporator.
If not then well, there's a leak of some kind.
You can check the drains. In fact, I dare say you should check the drains. Even if the water is from the evaporator you want to be sure the drains are clear, and kept clear.
From my 2nd hand info, a blocked drain doesn't puddle water under the car, but inside the cabin. And if this happens the cost to deal with this can be quite high.

This helps delay the development of odor. In severe cases in the right (or wrong) climate, mold/mildew can take root, so to speak, and the car's A/C system can develop a foul odor that can be hard to get rid of.
If with all of the above you start to smell a bit of an odor change the cabin air filter. These can get a bit stinky even if you are very conscientious and dry the evaporator to Sahara levels of dryness every usage.
...what Macster said. I was shocked first time I drove my C4S with the air on and parked it in the garage. Next day water in several places! I freaked until I realized it was just condensation. Couldn't agree more on the cabin air filter c/o. Since car was new to me last year I planned winter improvements one of which was cabin air filter. It made the funky smells go away in heat and cool modes. It was FILTHY!
It would help to mention where the water is, under the engine, under the middle of the car....
Evaporator drains would be in line with the radio and drip out the bottom of the car.
Thanks for the responses. The leak is center of car/left side. I know it's a dumb question, but it's a lot of water. And I checked, it is water. If I leave my car for 5 min and come back it looks like someone poured a large cup of water under the car/driver's door. It could be one of my kids screwing with me. That would be funny. I will recheck the front drains and make sure they are clear (I am sure they are, I am an expert at that. When I got the car it flooded after raining. The front drains were pushed out and I had ti figure out how to put them back).
Are the different drains for condensation?
Have you washed the car or has it been raining lately? Is there water under the battery? If so one of your cowl drains may be partially blocked. Check for junk in the drain openings. (#5? in this diagram)
AFAIK the body water drains the the drain for the evaporator are separate.
The body water drains are offset to either side of the car's centerline. Under the car you might spot them. The ends are positioned to ensure under way they experience no positive pressure to avoid air pressure acting to block water draining.
The evaporator drain is closer to the center line of the car at least based on the location of the water that this puts on the ground.
