Did you replace the passenger door latch mechanism with an OE Porsche door latch?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been chasing a battery drain for a while. I believe I have a problem with the passenger door lock, given I already replaced it once, makes me think it is either a defective, used, part. Or, its something else.
When I lock the car w the remote, it will beep, meaning a door is open.
The passenger side window does not reliably lower when the door handle is pulled. Drivers side is fine.
This makes me think it is something w the passenger door lock.
It does not appear that I can simply pull the fuse for the alarm, too many interconnected module, DME, etc on the same fuses.
The battery drains after sitting about a week, new battery. Works fine if I drive it. Should do that more.
any other ideas on how to diagnose or at least bypass the issue temporarily?
Appreciate the thoughts.
Did you replace the passenger door latch mechanism with an OE Porsche door latch? The aftermarket/substitute ones are prone to failure or not working properly. I had to replace my drivers door latch mechanism and I forked over for the OE Porsche door latch. Expensive, but original lasted over 20 years and 147K miles.
if you suspect the passenger door lock mechanism is draining your battery, just disconnect it and wait a week.
you will need to get to it anyway, as based on your description you have a microswitch issue.
I got the latch to work, windows go down when you open the door. Remote lock works, the lock button on the dash is no longer illuminated.
It does still honk the horn when I lock the door. Given the interior lights are not on, as if the door were open, any ideas what the computer thinks is not closed? The trunk and frunk warning lights are not illuminated.
Would a Snap On scanner tell me what is going on? Or, do I need to go to the dealer?
Thanks
Check all zones - doors, frunk, engine lid, gas filler door, center console, glove box (if you have one). Could still be the passenger door latch mechanism.
My horn regularly gives the "one honk," when I lock it with the key. Once it also did the "lights flash". Please indicate if the scanner identifies the open item.
How’s your stereo and amp? Are they factory / in working order? When the s,so go bad they drain the cars too. Took me a while but figured out I had a bad Chanel on my amp and was draining power
you know that is a great thought about the stereo,
The Snap On scanner i used did not show anything. It does not show separate zones, It would show an open door, but not which one. We tried disconnecting the frunk wiring for the sensor. The light on the dash for the frunk, trunk, seems to function properly, so I am assuming that is not the issue. I did not check the glove box, forgot about that one.
If I pull the fuse from the radio, should that get isolate the stereo as the problem? If i pull the fuse and I still have the problem, does that eliminate the stereo as the problem?
Any advice on how to test the glove box latch? or the center console latch?
There is also a ground wire with a clip on it at the stereo that has to be on the metal mounting area. This will cause the alarm to have issues. most aftermarket guys dont know and dont reinstall it correctly
