Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I'm troubleshooting a problem with my mirror radar display and pulled off the mirror. I'm having trouble putting it back on. Is there a trick to this?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've managed to make it worse. I'm guessing there is a special to expand the metal ring which is now out of the casing. I can't get it back together so I'm going to try to 3D print something.

POST 3Original post

Wow that's crazy and how did you remove that piece? I opted to remove the rear view mirror when installing my Teq cage and just moved the base from the glass.

That would have been the smart thing to do, ie, research first, then remove. I hot glued it in place as a temporary fix until I get a new mirror. This has been very frustrating, My car came with a stealth installed V1 radar detector and K-40 Laser jammer that displayed in the rear view mirror. I upgraded my V1 two years ago and that unit died after about a year. I replaced it with a V1 version 2 but I had to replace a few fuses as the previous one took out a bunch of fuses when it spit the bit. The new detector works fine but doesn't display on the mirror. I traced all of the wires and the only thing I could think of was possibly a fuse in the mirror. That's why I wanted to take it down. I guess I'll mount the V1 on the dash or windshield instead of getting a new mirror display. It was a cool thing to have.
