We had a few set-ups sold that had the wrong springs in the box...I mean the box had the right part numbers but the front springs were incorrect...we caught it in the shop before we sold any but....I hope thats not the case for you....good luck.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just had new Eibach springs installed on my '00 C2 coupe. I'm experiencing occasional rattling in the front suspension on rebound. All fasteners are tight. The only apparant difference is the shorter springs. Has this happened to others? Is it just a matter of the new springs seating themselves?
I used an experienced local Porsche shop for the installation. They're working with me on resolving the problem. I'm hoping to give them some tips from your experience.
Thanks in advance!

Well we went back in for an adjustment. My mechanic added a plastic spacer below the front springs and added shrunk on plastic tubing over the lower coil -- all in attempt to shim the apparant gap that was causing the rattle. This reduced, but did not eliminate the rattle. It looks like the Eibachs are coming out and the stock springs back in unless the distributor or Eibach come up with something else to try. Maybe an ROW M030 would be a better fit?
Thanks for the off-line suggestions and contacts at Eibach.

I have the Champion Eibach springs and I too have a sound, it is omre like a clunck, it is caused by the spring not centering on the perch. the spring rubs on one of the metal washers. I have talked to eibach and Champion, neiterh have seen the problem before, neither is willing to fix it. i took it to my trusted local mechanic, and he said drive it, this will not cause a problem for a long time, it is just irritating.
you might want to check the alignment of your springs.

Jim,
You just described it! It is more of a klunk. My mechanic stands behind his work and will remove the offending springs. He's done numerous Boxsters without problem. Funny that there are more than the two of us. Other users replied "off forum" with similar experiences.
Thanks,
Larry
Larry,
I have lived with not only the "clunk", but also groaning when turning and going up and down inclines. I have the Eibach springs installed over US 030 suspension. I am going to remove the springs and install the ROW 030. My 996 is also an '00 C2 coupe.
Regards,
Scott
