Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello @all,
ich removed the Throttle and the plenum to repair an air leak. I found near the starter a Connector which is not used right now. The car has no failure stored.
Also I did not found a connectionpoint or sensor, where the connector has to be connected. Can you tell me, where to connect do, or what is the use of this connector...
Thanks.
That looks like a grey wire, so I'm not sure if this helps:
What does this plug go to? - Page 3 - 6SpeedOnline - Porsche Forum and Luxury Car Resource
It looks like it's for a solenoid, so there is also the intake tuning valve solenoid.
Mine was plugged into the tank valve solenoid, so I was getting a large leak error because that wasn't working (open when it shouldn't have been), but no error code for the intake tuning valve not working.
Then I found the wire for the evap valve unplugged. Put it in the right place and moved the intake tuning valve in.
Evap error disappeared, and I could immediately feel the difference when the tuning valve opened at about 3,500 RPM.
If that solenoid isn't plugged in, maybe it just doesn't work but it's not serious enough to generate an error.
I just went through this "mystery connector" fiasco and it was determined that this connector is for the Tiptronic automatic transmission. Said connector just hangs loose on manual transmission cars, I tucked mine through the retainer for the Crank Position Sensor on the back of the number one bank. Is your car a manual?
Apologies, no, I don't know where it plugs in on the Tiptronic as I have a manual. But considering the location of the plug and the length of its wires, I would suspect it plugs in on top or high on the driver's side of the casing where it meets the engine for US cars, Best of luck.
I think, I know what the connector is used for. The cables are in the same colors, as the connector for the change over valve for the SAI (secondary air injection). My car does not have SAI, so the connector ist unused.
Thank you guys!
