Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Since the Boxster shares so much design with the 996, and was designed by Grant Larson, that complicates things in my mind, and then you have a design director like Harm Lagaay, approving and adjusting the designs of others, considering the long lead time for this design, it's now harder for me to give the sole credit for what we see on the road to just one guy, (even though I'm inclined to) even it that's his story.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust designs of others, considering the long lead time' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust designs of others, considering the long lead time' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey 996 crew - has anyone ever heard of, or wished they had, a placard for inside their 996 that had Pinky Lai's signature? I think an emblem that read "Designed by Pinky Lai" would look fantastic on the passenger side of the dash. Similar to what Singer resto-mods and the recent 1-of-1 PCA/Porsche Classic 996 Classic Club Coupe interiors sport.
Any designers out there want to collaborate on one?

I understand where you are coming from, and appreciate the love Pinky Lai is now getting for the 996. However, IMHO, I wouldn't even put a signature of Dr. Porsche on my 996 dashboard, unless he came back from the dead and resto-modded my car personally. Just doesn't fit.
If you had a clear signature in .png or .svt a Cricut could make them easily with the engraving bit.
I‘ve considered getting an engraving bit for mine, but never had a project worth doing.
Since I’ve „reimagined“ my own car, maybe I need a plaque with my own signature.

Just reflecting on it all...
As much as I'm an admirer of Pinky and his story of getting the design to pass the wind tunnel, these things are usually collaborative at some level as cars have many disciplines touching them. I do agree with Pinky's point of view on the car and that he was the guy who championed computer design back then, cracking the aerodynamic riddle. He is still a design hero of mine for sure! I'll say that the 996 may not have happened like it did or dare I say at all without him. The sad thing is that the 1997 Christophorus magazine back then when recounting the "New 911" design story leaves Pinky out completely in favor of Harm. He deserves more love for sure and glad he is getting it.
Here's the PCA's take. "Designer. Pinky Lai is credited with designing the 996, and he also worked on the Boxster. The Boxster, while sharing some familiar design lines, was designed by Grant Larson. The Porsche Design Chief during this time was Harm Lagaay. Read more about Pinky on Wikipedia."
Still, love to see the plaque if you do it.
