PowerTech out in Rockaway is probably the premier Porsche-only indy around here.

IMO, you have to price the level or service and commitment into the cost of the repair work.

He needs some basic maintenance done, flush brake lines and maybe the fuel line, oil change & new tires mounted.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a friend in Verona area who is the original owner of a 1988 911 and his longtime mechanic has recently retired. Anyone in that area of north Jersey have a recommendation I can forward on to him?
Thanks
I take my 2000 to Euro-Tec on Okner Parkway in Livingston. They are good and fair, but are a general Euro shop. PowerTech out in Rockaway is probably the premier Porsche-only indy around here. They're expensive, but who isn't on these cars.
Hey, that's my town!!!!
I usually bring my car to Eurotech in Mahwah, but recently for smaller things (ie oil changes, etc.) I've been bringing it to C&G on Bloomfield. Rosario is a straight up guy and knows his stuff.
There's also Powertech in Rockaway, about 20mins from Verona and I've heard good things about them but have never brought my car there.
Hope this helps.
My 996 is at Pwr Tech now. First time using them and very satisfied with the level of detail and honest talk. IMO, you have to price the level or service and commitment into the cost of the repair work. If it gets done once and correctly and you're not upsold on BS repairs, then the extra cost is well worth it.
what does he need done? I do a lot of maintenance and smaller scale projects for people in this area both air and water cooled. Priced below indies of course and you can use your parts.
I just asked him. He needs some basic maintenance done, flush brake lines and maybe the fuel line, oil change & new tires mounted. Biggest issue is some transmission slippage which is hindering his ability to drive it. Also looking to upgrade to a WONG Chip (i claim ignorance about this).
I used Caste Systems for a bit on my 84 911 Targa. I did a lot of work on my own but used them for the tougher stuff. Very small shop, James is the owner and was really helpful and collaborative on the work I wanted done. I don't really think they are well known - at least in Porsche circles - but they do amazing VW work....
