Currently has Sumitomos which have decent tread, but are old and very noisy. Looking for handling - only real hard driving is occasional trip to N Georgia mountains - and a lot less noise. Price on Tire Rack between the Continentals and Michelins is very close.

You are going to get varying opinions all over the place. Tire threads are almost as bad as oil and detailing threads. Buuuuut, since you asked.... I had Michelin PS4S on my Z06. Time came that they needed replacing, and I did so with Conti ECS. I like the Conti as well-to-possibly better than the Michelin. I actually bought a second set. So I am running them on my 18/19 and 19/20 wheels set-ups. I liked them so much, that I also put a set on my Chevy SS sedan. I recently bought my 996 and it came with a brand new set of Sumitomo HTR Z5. Decent tire, for sure. That said, the 996 will be getting Conti ECS when the time is due. Great tires.

Michelins are some of the best tires money can buy. I�d go with those.
