Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Today I installed my newly painted seal grey console courtesy of BumperPlugs and all I can say is "Wow!" The workmanship of their painted console is top notch, and in my humble opinion, well worth the wait and $. I took the opportunity to install a new 997 shifter, Tequipment shift **** and emergency brake handle. I think together they've really upped the look and feel in my Targa's all black interior. Next on my list is installing new seat covers from Classic9 leather, which I hope will arrive in the next 2-3 weeks.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Here's a link to the order page with current price...which it appears just went up about $150-$200 from what I paid 5 weeks ago. I know many do this as a DIY. I just know I couldn't do as good of a job. Others might use a local body shop and get similar results...quite possibly for less $. Who knows....all I know is I'm a very satisfied customer. https://bumperplugs.com/porsche/996-...center-console

POST 6Original post

BumperPlugs may have finally priced themselves out of the market. Damn shame. They do a nice job.

POST 7Original post

I looked into using them for my center console, but that is crazy expensive. Locally, I can get this done for around $500. I think I am going to give it a go as a DIY

I was quoted $500 by my local scratch & dent guy, a price for which I thought I could give it a go myself and punt if I didn't like the way it turned out. $1300, wow.

POST 10Original post

Wow, that's crazy. It's gone up alot lately, I think. I looked at this a while back, and while I don't remember the exact price, I do remember thinking, "That's a little steep, but might be worth it..." So I'm guessing it was $500 to $800 or so? $1300? That's insane.

I ordered it thru Pelican about a year ago. (p/n 996-424-980-22) and not sure if it's available any longer. The Tequipment stuff (shifter + e-brake) is not cheap...but I have no plans on selling the car, so decided to buy new versus trying to find both used.

POST 12Original post

I had the entire side of my Audi A4 wagon repainted for $1600. And it was a damn good job. $1300 for a console seems crazy, maybe it's just me.
