Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had a local shop do the fisterD mod to a set of mufflers. However, when I installed them, the bypass pipe touches the heat shield on the inside of the bumper. I did not install the bumper yet. Ran the car in the garage for a while to see how hot the heat shields got and they were not hot to the touch. Want to know if these could cause problems with the bumper or something else. I was thinking about taking a C-Clamp and compressing the tubes a little in that area to get it some clearance. Thoughts. P.S. I painted with high temp paint to help prevent rust.

POST 3Original post

You'll need more than a C clamp to squish those pipes. I would take them back to the shop and ask them to heat it up and hammer the pipes in a bit.

Are you bragging dnwang? Seriously, it's probably gonna be easier if it's heated and/or pounded.
