Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All, can anyone tell me the color name/type of this trim? I am going to order new trim pieces from bumperplugs.com, but not sure of the color code or name. It's an 02' 911 Carrrera Thanks in advance Hey all,

Holy Interior Abuse, Batman! Someone treated that poor car like s#!+. Sad site. Post up a photo of the sticker underneath the front trunk lid. That will help with the options. Also, there is a sticker under the carpeting inside the front trunk, driver's side*, just in front of the interior light. That sticker lists exterior and interior color codes. *USA driver's side

I've never seen a 996 that had been used as a cat scratch post before.

Hi there, Your interior appears to be Savannah Beige leather, but it's hard to tell because the color shift. It's possible that it's Natural Brown, which was a high dollar option. Look for TRU or TRW on your option code list. No matter the color of your leather, you have a few choices: -Find a woodworker who understands veneers and can replace your original veneers with new veneers poly-coated with a higher UV resistance -Strip off the existing veneer and paint the parts in a color that appeals to you (many folks option their exterior color on interior parts) -Replace the parts as you said. The parts you've shown are the defroster trim, door handle cover, and rear center console. Wood is a love or hate option on Porsches, most of us fall on the latter. The leather appears in fine shape aside from whatever has spilled or seeped onto the defroster trim, so I'd try a hand at restoring the existing piece. Worst case you try, fail, and toss it. Good luck!

Thanks. This was very helpful. Any idea how to locate the part numbers and get quotes for replacement parts. Finding a woodworker has been very hard in the Sarasota area. So at this point, i am either going to strip then paint, or replace the parts. Thanks again.

Wrong sticker under the hood. It's a white paper sticker located under the hood Porsche crest emblem. It has the car's option codes.

Heat. The glue that holds the wood down has failed. The silver paint that looks bad was under the wood. While I don't want wood in my Porsche, I think it's cool that there is a green 911 with lots of wood and that someone is repairing it. It's not your usual 996.

POST 12Original post

I also think it's Savannah Beige, but you'll definitely want to confirm that before ordering any pieces.

POST 13Original post

Do an ebay search for 996 wood. No comments on the search term. They pop up from time to time. I think there is a center console on there now. If the wood is OEM, I think there were only two options. Light Burr and Dark Burr. Pelican parts has the 996 tequipment options list on their website. Yours appears to be light.
