Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

So while I was in process of replacing the wheels and tires with the spare set...I decided to check the tie rods and this is what I found.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Had a tire damaged by a nasty screw, beyond repair.

While I am there, should I be looking for something else?
Thanks
Ooo that's no good. Check the wishbones (sometimes called coffin arms) and lower control arms as well. I just changed mine out and they really tightened up the feel of the front end. The wishbones were really "creaky" too so it got rid of most of that noise - something else is still squeaking a little bit though... Good Luck
I just found an insane price on Rein Tie Rods..
Rein Automotive SCE0280R Tie Rod End........$5.88
I know Rein has a good reputation with motor mounts......what about tie rods??
Wow... You know what they say about "too good to be true"... Being a fairly skeptical person to begin with, I don't know if I'd be comfortable with $6.00 tie rod ends on my P-Car...especially when driving over the speed limit. That being said I'm also a believer that we get screwed on a regular basis regarding parts prices. I don't know, maybe for the twelve dollar investment it'd be worth buying them and checking out the fit/finish? Obviously, if you buy 'em, you've got to live with 'em... Good luck, and if you buy them maybe post some photos with a little write up of the install/impressions...
They had them in Amazon as an "add on" item....at this point there are only 2 left....I went ahead and pulled the trigger for 2 of them....also bought the "puller"....total order $39.74
I bought the tie rod installation kit for about $65 on Amazon, a bargain and worth owning. I've doen tie rods on 3 different cars wit the same set. Makes life a hundred times easier.
Hi Jason,
Warehouse33 was on my list of suppliers to visit.
I was in process of purchasing a couple of books in Amazon, and decided to do a search for the Porsche tie rods......I could not believe the price....
The same ones (Rein) everywhere else are in the $30-40 range
2 outer and 2 inner....
In my case, both outers have the boot chewed up, and there is play when rocking the wheel (holding wheel at 3 and 9) and obvious movement at the tie rod end in the picture.....no movement at 12 and 6 (bearing is OK)
They arrived....now I am wishing I've bought 4.......they cost now over $30..
Someone at Amazon must have made a mistake the first time around....I will replace at some point next weekend.
I sold some control arms last week, that said "Made in Turkey". That's something you don't see everyday and the guy I sold them to is from Turkey! Lol He thought I put the sticker on it to mess with him.
