Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking for some help with the proper tire size for 19's on my C4 so I don't screw up the all wheel drive/PSM. I've been reading a ton of threads and have landed on what I think is best based on overall diameter and front/rear ratio as close as I can get it. Anyone have a C4 with 19's and PSM that could verify these will work and not light up my dashboard with warnings? Thanks in advance... 275/30/19 Rear 235/35/19 Front (I'd prefer 245/30/19 but can't find an all season tire in this size. Car is a DD and I don't want to be changing wheels back a forth in the winter)

POST 2Original post

As you know from your research, there is no "proper" size recommendation for a 19" wheel on a 996. Porsche recommends nothing larger than 18". That being said, the most common thinking that you'll find on this board is that keeping your wheel/tire diameters within 3% of one another from front to rear is acceptable, and shouldn't burn up your front differential. I think most people will tell you that if you find a size that keeps front and rear within 3% and doesn't rub, then you should be fine. I know it's a PITA to change wheels and tires for the seasons, but it's something you should consider for the future. I did it on my 996 and I do it on my 997. It is more expensive, but it improves grip and performance in all situations. If you drive your car quite a bit, then it might be worth the investment.

POST 3Original post

I have 19s on mine. No problem. The tire depends on your wheel size, you need to look at tire mfg size charts. But 235/ 35 front and 275 ( Not very wide ) to 305 / 30 rears are ok basically 35 front and 30 or 25 rear
