Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hope everyone's holiday season was great!!! I have a question which I posted before but forgot again. I have the 18 inch turbo rims on my '99 996 with 265 rear and 225 front. I remember back when that 285's can be put in the rear but doing so will cause more understeer. I like to keep my rims at the present time so is the understeer very noticeable? I welcome ne suggestions/options to this topic. Thanks for futire responses. Take care. Mike

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks again Viken!! I checked the archives and got the info. Only thing is with the slightly induced understeer how much noticeable is that? Regards!! Mike

POST 4Original post

It won't be too noticeable unless you drive the car reasonably fast and/or closer to its limits.

POST 5Original post

I also put 285s (BFG KDs) on my 18" wheels, and I track my car as often as possible. The additional understeer, if any, isn't noticeable at all, and the additional rear grip is quite nice on the track, especially in the higher speed turns. Looks nicer too since it fills out the wheel wells a little better.
