This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone, I am working on installing a fister exhaust but ran into a head scratcher while trying to take out my mufflers. There are long bolts that I have removed the nut from but it is too long too pull out. It is naturally the same on both sides and I couldn't find any other posts about it. Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Hello, Instead of trying to remove those 2 long bolts on each side, just remove the 3 bolts on the bracket that hold the muffler in; I think it's much easier that way. Good luck!

POST 3Original post

You Tube iirc, as it was some years ago, there 3 nuts (seen in video) that remove the muffler from the mounting bracket, those 135 mm long bolts can be gotten at local Fastenal should you decide to cut the heads off

POST 4Original post

Also, on re-install, put the long bolts in from the bottom with the nuts on top. It will make life easier for you or the next guy down the road.

POST 5Original post

Remove the three nuts, unbolt both sides of the union pipe between the muffler and cat, remove rear wheel and slide muffler without removing the exhaust tip out the wheel well. easiest way to remove.

POST 6Original post

If you have a ratchet with a "swiveling" head, it makes it straightforward to reach the 3 bolts holding the muffler on...... the angle is the difficult part...... 04 996 99 986
