Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
If its not that then it may be very clean engine oil.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
It definitely never stops...
After changing expansion tank, rollers, belt, water pump and thermostat... (996 4s Trip 2003)
I decide after a weekend in the little montain to remove my air box to check if my tightening marks are OK.
And there, in what I surrounded, a small pool of clean yellow liquid. Which I obviously had to clean before the photo eh...
I put a little oil on the paper towel on the left to compare to what I tried on the right. In the photo it's not convincing but the right is much more yellow.
I have a feeling it's coming from somewhere behind the throttle body. Where is the only hydrolic oil thing connected?
I drove a little higher in the revs than usual in manual without going to excess.
Any idea? A clue?
Thank you
It could be power steering fluid but the spec fluid is blue/green. Doesnt mean someone has put the wrong stuff in your car. Pull the cap and check the level and color. There is a low pressure retun into the resi that is just an o-ring seal and it leaks sometimes. If its not that then it may be very clean engine oil. Did u change your oil recently....maybe the fill tube is cracked and it dumped in top of the motor and ran down.
Thank's for your reply.
Maybe it's not the same color in Europe ?
I pulled the cap and the level is just in the square. And the color seems to be the same.
Where is the o-ring ? In the cap ?
I changed the oil one year ago and made 5000km since.
Do you maybe know how I can make a try to see where the liquid leak ?
Power steering fluid is blue/green pentosin chf11 also in RoW (euro) spec 996.
Perhaps it is coolant, though I admit it looks oily on the paper towel, so not likely.
There is a hard line that enters the back of the resevior (red bushing) It requires an endoscop to see as it buried under the plenum.
There is also an oring under the cab but that usually doesnt leak unless its loose and u would see it. There is also another oring under the neck (green oring) of the resi and the neck can be twisted off. U may want to check that too.
I tried just before to turn on the car and turn the wheels completely.
After that...
I guess that seems to be come from that nuts. I clean it before and after my try I put my finger on it and I had oil.
So, in my car, the oil is Yellow and not Green :/
That nut is the high pressure line and there is an oring under it on the tube that seals it. U need to remove the ac compressor and ps pulley to get to it. My suggestion would be to drain the ps pump and use a little air pressure to blow out the lines while its apart and refill with the correct fluid.
Not 100% sure if the wrong fluid will be a future issue but it may be the cause of the the oring failing and u may have more issue down the road?
