Hey all, I�m going to be replacing the parking brake lever and handle assembly inside the car. Do I need to put something behind the rear tires since I�ll be removing it or do I just fully engage it and then it stays locked even while the assembly is removed?

To remove u have to release all tension in the ebrake cables thus releasing the brakes. Just put it in 1st gear and it will be fine unless u r on a hill in SF. A wheel chock can be used for exta safety.
