Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yes, I know it will raise eyebrows, but it only gets changed three times a year.
Leading evidence: 'Replace three times a year' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery, inflate tires' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

My ritual; sta-bil marine and full tank, disconnect battery, inflate tires to max sidewall (remember to deflate before driving).

Suggestion
In addition to what's mentioned, I change the oil but not the filter, so when it gets out of storage, I don't have to make an oil change one of my first chores.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello there, I am going on a 3 month vacation and need to store my car..It will be on a battery trickle charger, but are there any other concerns or suggestions? Thanks
Put in a bottle of driven defender to a half tank then fill up with fresh gas
inflate tires up 10 lbs add dryer sheets around the car to keep rodents away
keep it charged
good to go
All of my fun cars get stored for the 4-6 mos road salt season. My ritual; sta-bil marine and full tank, disconnect battery, inflate tires to max sidewall (remember to deflate before driving). This has worked well for 20+ years.
The over inflation may not be necessary, but I had some tires on my old English cars that would flat spot terribly and this would lessen it.
In addition to what's mentioned, I change the oil but not the filter, so when it gets out of storage, I don't have to make an oil change one of my first chores. I have the LN Engineering spin-on filter but since I change the oil every 1,000 miles, I can skip one of those changes as it goes to storage. Yes, I know it will raise eyebrows, but it only gets changed three times a year.
EVOMMM, I hear what you are saying, but it is so easy to do, working on the car is my hobby, and once up to temperature, the revs never fall below 4K unless I have to stop for some reason. Oh, and track days. It is treated the same as my Ducati, and it seems pretty pleased.
I travel 8 months out of the year and the car sits in the garage on a charger, full tank of gas and Ill either sea foam it or add a fuel additive. Car starts immediately and Ive never had any type is issues.
Read something interesting recently about STARTING the car after winter storage. I'm going to say this wrong so someone please clarify/correct me: To prevent bore scoring, it was suggested that before starting in the spring, you remove the fuse to the fuel pump and then turn the ignition (without cranking) . This will deliver oil to the (now dry) cylinders and avoid the fuel dump that occurs when cold starting. The premise being that all of the oil has settled into the sump after 3 mos. of storage and starting with a fuel dump and no oil is bad. Am I close?
Sorry but that does not make sense. It would if our cars had an electric oil pump, which they don't. Could be that you misunderstood the spin the engine with the starter with the fuel pump fuse pulled to get the oil to circulate. I have heard that doesn't work from the engine experts because the oil pump won't develop enough oil pressure on the starter.
The method that makes the most sense to me is what has been suggested: Crank the engine, when it fires immediately shut it off, repeat until you see the oil pressure gauge move(usually within two or three cycles), then start the engine.
For mice, I would leave frunk and engine lids open. Disconnect the frunk light. Further, think about removing the cowling around the battery. Its simple. I watch for mice like a hawk in the winter and beyond, and Im not convinced the dryer sheets or peppermint sprays work. I keep a 5 gallon bucket mouse trap in the garage at all times and also poison bait. All this and Im sure no mice will get in🙂
