Come on guys, these Duraflex bumpers are 1/2 the cost of used OEM bumpers and 20x the work to make them acceptable.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Theres a reason theyre so cheap long story short, Ive spent probably 4hrs labor trying to prepare them for install (Ive only worked on one so far) still not even close.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone put the Duraflex Turbo Look Front Bumper Cover (#107075) on their 996? I am curious if you put in fog lights or some sort of mesh instead in the large openings as I would have assumed it would have come with a mesh but it doesn't. https://www.bodykits.com/i-24355921-...ce-107075.html

POST 2Original post

Your link says it comes with mesh. Also those bumpers take a fair amount of work before paint. U already have fog lights so why would u add more that would block air flow to the rad?

POST 4Original post

I bought Duraflex side skirts a few years ago because they were so much cheaper than oem. Theres a reason theyre so cheap long story short, Ive spent probably 4hrs labor trying to prepare them for install (Ive only worked on one so far) still not even close. 😩 Ive since bought a oem (polyurethane) passenger side (mkI) side skirt and compared it to the Duraflex not sure where they get their molds from, but its not even close Buyer beware

This. By the time you have a shop properly fit the bumper to the car, the bumper + labor(not including paint) will cost you as much as an OEM bumper that requires no fitting and if youre lucky no paint.

POST 6Original post

Avoid these Duraflex fiberglass bumpers that have awful fit and finish. You're better off buying a used OEM bumper and having it professionally repainted. https://www.ebay.com/itm/31430484545...Bk9SR-Tiq43DYQ https://www.ebay.com/itm/27550753385...Bk9SR-Tiq43DYQ https://www.ebay.com/itm/32538277616...Bk9SR-jiq43DYQ

POST 7Original post

Come on guys, these Duraflex bumpers are 1/2 the cost of used OEM bumpers and 20x the work to make them acceptable. Why spend $700 for a used bumper and $500 in bodywork and paint when you could spend $300 for a Duraflex and $2000 for bodywork and paint?

POST 8Original post

Even my body guy said stay away from Duraflex. It was awfully tempting due to price, but not the headache to make them fit. I listened (for once, lol).

POST 9Original post

I really want one of their GT2 front bumpers...but hear stories that's it just not worth the cost. Right then, who has a spare 996 GT bumper lying about?

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 18609919

None of these will fit his car. Very few MK I bumper options. But would agree with all the previous comments, Duraflex seems to be garbage.

He never mentioned the exact 996 he owns. I assume you based it off the link. But you're right, the OEM Mk1 aero bumpers are a harder to find, but they're out there. Gotta be patient. I've seen them on FB marketplace from time to time.
