Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Plugs are not a huge change, but I have seen them make an engine run like crap if they were too far off.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I ordered some Bosch spark plugs from Pelican Parts for my 2003 C4S. The part number i received and they specify on their site and others specify is
FGR-5-KQE0
. I have noted on a DIY link that i should be using the
FGR-6-KQE0. FCP Euro also specifies this Bosch part number for my car. Am i good to go or should i get another spark plug? I would rather not have to do this job twice.
Thank you in advance.

This discussion has come up before and I don't remember what the consensus was. If you look at the pic below you can see that (at least for my '99 C2) Porsche specs Bosch FGR 6 KQ
C
or Beru 14 FGR 6 KQU.
I changed mine last year and the original plugs that were in the car when it left the factory were Bosch and I replaced them with Beru.
The number in the middle is the heat range of the plug. If you run your engine hard and fast, you want a cooler plug(5). If you lolligag around town you might want a hotter plug(6). What did your old plugs look like? If they had a lot of carbon buildup, you should try a the hotter plug. Ultimately, I think you are OK either way you go.
I'm about to change plugs in my 03 C4S. In 20 years, haven't Bosch plugs improved over factory specs?
What's the difference between what Pelican recommended and the originals?
Are either platinum or iridium or what? Thanks.
Remember the ECU was tuned with that plug the yea the engine was built,

A few years back there was a Bosche engineer that said never use Platinum plugs if your car will ever see fuel with MTBE in it, so there is that.
Its not a common additive any more but it was one of the few chemicals that actually erodes platinum..
