Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Passenger side door,1999 C2, was giving intermittent issues with window drop down and locking unlocking. So I decided to purchase interior and exterior door handle microswitches along with OE lock assembly. Work performed with battery disconnected. Straightforward replacement. Window limits set. Dropdown operates correctly. Went to try locking doors with key on drivers side, but would only mechanically lock drivers side, not passenger or gas flap. Remote only unlocks mechanically locked door sounding one horn beep. Interior lock button on console does nothing and led is not lit. Battery in remote is new. Searched and did the three times center to lock action with no results. Very much appreciate any assistance. Fob sync? Reset procedure? Thanks, Dave

POST 2Original post

Sounds like the connector in the door lock is not seated properly or is otherwise not working.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, this was my first thought. Removed door panel and it seated correctly! Failed to mention this in initial thread. Would have made sense. No function from fob because no signal back to control unit on passenger side? Thanks, Dave

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Reviewing WS manual, came accross this. Seems to be a one time use, hold lever in place kinda thing during assy of metal rod on outside handle to black plastic 90 degree capture fitting.. No mention of this in any Renn or other replacement posts. Door latches and unlatches quite well. Could not find any other related info in manuals. Any input? Thanks, Dave

POST 5Original post

I do not know if this has a control module in it but sometimes you have to activate the control module with durametric or piwis for some of these parts. I know i had to when replacing a door latch on a cayenne I used to have. I actually just activated the door lock from durametric or one of my other units and it started working normally.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you. Have not read of having to do as such, so far. But will look into this! I do have durametric for the car. Dave
