Suggestion

When I did a refresh with B6 I thought it still seemed pretty harsh, so I started adjusting tire pressures (I did some research and math that I don't recall now) but it didn't take much to make a difference in comfort.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Located in Utah. I regret the bumpy ultra sport b6 and want to go back to oem b4 shocks and struts. Please let me know if someone is interested. I have only 6k miles on the suspension package

POST 2Original post

we would love to help by moving this into the correct area, but you've literally given no information to go from. what vehicle? what year?

So should they smooth out after break in period? When should I expect (mileage wise) to break in.

YES! This! I had nothing to compare - my 996 is my first 911 (right from a 944), and I've only had very short drives in comparable cars. When I did a refresh with B6 I thought it still seemed pretty harsh, so I started adjusting tire pressures (I did some research and math that I don't recall now) but it didn't take much to make a difference in comfort.

POST 8Original post

What tyres have you got? I put the Bilstein B4 on my C4, my car was factory M030 and I am UK based so firmer than US M030, and I found the rear far too firm. Oh, and the front too soft. I actually put some stock dampers on with the M030 springs at the rear, much better, then put on PS4 tyres all round and really comfy. But if anything a bit too soft, lost the steering feel and super precise turn in. The B4 is roughly 15% firmer than the oem EU damper, the B6 is around 10% firmer than the B4 but better damping. So not sure it will give you what you're looking for? I run 38psi rear and 34psi front, and more and it starts to get crashy with no gains in feel etc.
