Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check summit racing' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check summit racing' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used the Cayenne Electric Vacuum pump on a radical 930 Turbo that had a camshaft that would produce very little vacuum ( very racey camshaft) so wired a Cayenne Electric Vacuum pump in parallel with a vacuum switch that would kick it on if vacuum got below a set value..

First gen Cayenne/Touareg also use an electric vacuum pump.

Cayenne Turbo uses an Electric Vacuum pump like the Hella one also to assist the engine vacuum.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Probably should start with little trip down the rabbit hole leading to this question. M96 and M97 differ in their source of vacuum for the brake booster. Both pull from the engine and route it to the frunk via a hard plastic line. The source on the M96 is the Bank 1 intake manifold, while the source on the M97 is the Bank 2 oil scavenge pump. There's a good picture in the link below:

The corrugated bend on the M96 vacuum line can crack (and leak) and is b***h to replace. I've fixed mine using epoxy. Here's some more detail on someone else's experience in this thread:

Let's say you wanted to use an M97 intake manifold on an M96. Let's ignore the fact its a single part vs the 2 piece upper and lower intake manifold of the M96. Let's also ignore the mounting hole patterns being different, and the need for a custom crossover vent pipe (paging Dr
@Porschetech3
). Why not remove the line entirely, and install an electric vacuum pump in the frunk for the brake booster? Obvious reasons would the additional cost, wiring, and mounting considerations. But hey people are going thru the same issues when doing an electric power steering conversion. The only time I've seen it mentioned is in this post by
@Charles Navarro
in regards to the dual oil scavenge pumps (we can ignore the merits of those for this discussion).

The 997TT also uses an engine driven vacuum pump piggybacked on the bank 1 scavenge pump. I'd like to do that mod.
First gen Cayenne/Touareg also use an electric vacuum pump.
There are tons of electric vacuum pumps available for hotrods. Check Summit Racing.
Quick search for "Hella vacuum pump" as mentioned in the last link of my original post leads to a Volvo brake booster electric vacuum pump at a reasonable price:

Not sure of the difference between the two pumps listed at FCP.
Cayenne Turbo uses an Electric Vacuum pump like the Hella one also to assist the engine vacuum. Since it is Turbo and has overdrive there is not always enough vacuum for the brake booster and the Electric Vacuum pump will kick in...

That said if you were to want to put the 997 intake on the 996, I think installing the 997 scavenge pump with piggybacked Mechanical Vacuum pump would be a better way to go. would just need to fabricate a hard pipe from the Vaccum pump to the brake booster hard pipe with flexible connections....I have become proficient at fabricating OEM looking hard-pipes with flexible ends and have numerous sources of materials..It's not that difficult ....lol
