Girodisc does make a ton of sizes for stock applications and u can use applications from other models or years to "upgrade" your car.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So maybe your spouse, your kids, a good friend or some one else (Santa?) has surprised you with a wonderful Porsche related Christmas gift this year! If so then here's a great place to show your cool new stuff to the rest of us! This year I was completely surprised by my loving wife and our very cool son with a Lego Porsche 911 set! It can be configured as either a Targa or a Turbo model and with 1,458 pieces it should keep me busy for most of the winter! I had no idea that Lego made such a model and I certainly had no idea that I would be getting one for Christmas, what an awesome and thoughtful gift! Anyway, if you have been fortunate to have received something Porsche related for Christmas too then let the rest of us see it too! Who knows, maybe you received a new Porsche for Christmas! And before I sign off I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and some very Happy Holidays with family and friends, peace to everyone and happy motoring!
1,458 pieces! Yikes!
So who wouldn't want a Turbo/Targa 911?
I wanted the 911 GT3 RS Lego but I am not paying a grand for a friggen LEGO kit !! I have most of the Lego Train stuff released recently and those are worth a mint now too.
The 911 RSR is still out of stock but I will get one when it becomes available
For Christmas my wife got me...
1. Demon 996 GT3 front splitter.
2. GT3 brake ducts.
3. New Rein Motormounts.
4. LN Low temp thermostat.
5. Fuel Injectors
6. LN Magnetic drain plug.
Good Christmas.
Not to derail the thread, but it's a Technivorm Moccamaster which is something I've wanted for many years... but I'd still probably prefer 996 parts 🤣.
My grandson (4) last year got me a Porsche Lego 911 model very similar.
Best part, we spent a couple hours together building it on Christmas Day afternoon.
He usually goes into my office when they visit to see if it's still on the book shelf.
Great present. The later.
To add, he is a great co-worker washing the 911, however Grandpa seems to get more of the rinsing hose than the car.
I did not receive any parts gifts for Christmas... ****, if my family knew how much all the stuff that goes on the car costs....
That said, been spending money on the car like it's going out of style. Christmas eve, received some gigantic brake pads... they make the stock C2 pads look humorously small.
Mostly stuff i bought or put on a wish list.
A gt2/3 factory batery cut off. I still have to build a harness for the interior switch and integration into the car harness. It came up for sale and looked real cool. Plus hpde safety.
Rennline motor mounts, track mat and dive planes from Demon Speed. Couldnt get anyone to buy me the Getty 55" wing
.
New steering wheel, hub and porsche button. The nrg detachable coupler will be here this week.
used girodisc 2 piece rotors for the rear. Still looking for used fronts.
I got this for Christmas! I cant wait to build it! The only one I need now is the Orange GT3 to round out the set.

Here is where some of the others live.
Does it count if you bought them for yourself?
-Bilstein B8 / H&R sport spring kit
-Demon Speed 996 cup splitter
-ECS Tuning 15mm wheel spacer kit
-OEM Porsche clear side markers
-OEM Porsche 996 w/Aero Kit car cover
-914Rubber 996 HVAC LCD screen replacement kit
-Bentley Publishing 996 service manual
Come on! Are we lucky or what?
-Cocomats, black & white. Won't be here until mid-Jan
-Convertible top centering journals. That convertible top rattle is FINALLY gone! (include PN's on the Christmas list, it works!)
-Really nice Dickies coveralls. My wife is tired of trying to wash garage floor dreck out of whatever shirt I happened to be wearing when I started crawling under the car. I wore them all yesterday until she made me take them off for dinner. Yes, ma'am...
We are blessed. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone!
De Jeeper,
Thanks for the heads up on Girodisc.
Never took a look at them and didn't realize that they offered a floating hat as well as replacement rotors rings for Brembo GT Brake kits at 1/3 rd of the price. Girodisc rotor rings are $600 versus $1800 for the Brembo fronts on my car. I sent them an email to learn more. Love saving money so I can use it elsewhere on the car!
I may have misunderstood their website, but it looks like they offer a floating hat system for the 996 Oem brake system. If true, for those looking to save 4-5 lbs per wheel in unsprung weight by upgrading their rotors, this may be a great option.
Love innovation in our industry.
Got myself a Belated Christmas present for Sally after I balanced the checkbook after Christmas and had a little play money left.
Koni Sport Struts and Shocks to replace the tired Factory Bilsteins
girodisc, alcon and ap racing are the most popular floating discs for our cars. Do your research the rings and hats r specific for each brand. Girodisc does make a ton of sizes for stock applications and u can use applications from other models or years to "upgrade" your car. It takes a lot of research to figure it out because the measurements r hard to find.
also there r companies that will make custom rings for hats if u have a custom set up.
Good to know. I have stuck with Brembo 355x32 and 345x28 slotted rotors for the GT Kit, but Brembo has pushed up the price of replacement rotor rings by over 50% over the past couple of years. Girodisc looks to fit the Brembo hats and may be a viable answer.
Thanks again.
Bought it from squirrel and my friend Alfredo who has an 02 helped me install it. No more Christmas carols is vroom-vroom for now on.
By the way it was a pain in the behind getting some of the bolts out from the old cross pipes. We took it to a muffler shop to get 5 of the bolts out.
In Alfredos garage.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\Sure man, the decision was fairly basic and fundamental. I wanted the Factory Fresh ride that had been lost due to dampers worn out.
The Factory dampers (B4;s) cost more than B6 , that doesn't make good since because they are no more Technically Advanced. (minus 1 point). so was looking at B6 .
The Koni Sport : I had bought Koni before and was totally satisfied ( 1 point) they are Lifetime Warranty ( 1 point) they are rebuild-able ( 1 point) . they are easily adjustable ( 1 point) Koni Sponsors a lot of Track Series (1/2 point)
That's the way I assessed them. YMMV . I didn't want to spend a ton of money on highly tuneable parts, even though I love tuneability, at my age and health , it's more of an unrealistic desire. I have to watch myself and not make decisions by desire that don't match my present energy level. I have too often comitted to something that I used to could in just a few hours and it end up taking me days/weeks to complete. You know the old saying " A guy has to know his limitations" , well that is very tough when you get older and your ability slowly fades unknowingly, And you don't realize untill you have committed yourself..
Anyway the Tuneability of the Koni Sport I think is just iceing on the cake, and I'll surprise myself if I even click the adjusters at all...lol
I have the same set up. My car was like that when I got it, yes I have lowering springs, I havent touch it it drives like a go cart and Im extremely happy with it.
Thank you for the detailed response! Makes sense to me.
I am gonna pull the trigger on struts in the next few days. The only thing holding me back right now is my fear of Spring compressors 😂
Numeric, glad you posted. You look to have built a great product. I am looking for a new shifter and it's between you and CAE for my 996 of which I drive it on the street and track.
Can you do the following:
1. Differentiate between your shifter and CAE.
2. What options are available to lengthen the height of your shaft. CAE shifter is very tall. Yours looks to be regular height. Do you provide any options?
3. Do you have any video of someone driving a 996 on the track using your shifter? All the footage seems to be of guys driving around town, which is nice, but very low stress driving.
Thanks!
I believe you.
I gained a lot on the characteristics of the CAE shifter watching Jason's footage. You can visually see the precison as Jason is working his way up and down the gears and synchronizing his revs. Would be helpful to see Numeric's in action. Want to see the consistency of its actions under stress. I believe it's there, I just haven't seen it yet in any footage. Nothing worse than a missed shift. Especially slingshoting out of a turn shifting from 2nd to 3rd with a guy on your ***.
As far as the feel of the CAE, I cannot comment as I have never driven with a CAE Shifter. But the main difference between ours and theirs is that ours can fit completely stock without any modifications, but still giving you that short and precise feel.
We have the adjustable positions on our shifter, with the tallest being a little taller than stock. And our lowest throw setting being shorter than stock.
There are videos all of Youtube and Our Instagram of people driving with our shifter! I'll add an example below:

Thanks for the videos. I have seen them a few times before. Unfortunately, they aren't very helpful. Certainly would be helpful to see one with on track footage. Don't misunderstand my comments/question, no doubt in my mind that your shifter is the "best" for a street car. What I am trying to understand is if it's the "best" for someone that street and tracks their car.
Well a belated Christmas present. Just waiting for the email telling me it has to come from Germany. They will also probably ask for my VIN and then tell me it won't fit my car.
I'm a little late to the party, but my daughter got me this awesome book. Then I gifted myself a set of Quickjacks when I received the special offer email from Pelican. I got the 5000TLX, and it's supposed to get here Saturday!
They were $200 off the regular price of $1,680, through 12/31. Now they are normal price again.
I misstated before that the offer came to me through Pelican, I believe it was actually through PCA.
Here's the one I got:

Well, I finally bit the bullet on my Porsche Christmas:
- Clutch Kit from Pelican Parts (Ouch)
- UAOS
- IMS Retrofit
- Bilstein B6
- Fuel Injectors
Now I just need a bonus from work
Well, it took two and a half days to convince them that it will fit my car and to sell me the bumper but they said there's one in a U.S. warehouse and they'll have it in a few days.
