Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace instrument cluster' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery cables' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I reset the instrument cluster with durametric and ODO now reads 288310.

b) Disconnect both battery cables from the battery, removing the negative cable first.

1- To reset the odometer to the original mileage, (a) Put the key in the ignition (if you have no key, just leave the power switch in the OFF position), (b) Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, (c) Turn the ignition key one position (if you have just a power switch, turn it ON), (d) Turn the ignition key back to the original position (or the power switch to OFF), (e) Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Was connected to the instrument cluster and Durametric stopped responding on my laptop. After restarting the program, the ODO reads 999999.
What can I do to correct this?
Makes you wonder when you see a red aero car that says 25k miles with a iffy x50 but looks like it has 75k miles what the milage really is, Keep going maybe you can get it lower and have a low milage car. Now we need a hours to mileage comparison chart to make sure its true milage.
I had a similar problem with my BMW E39. The OBD tester corrupted a chip inside the instrument cluster. I ended up replacing the instrument cluster.

Was your cluster and odometer still functioning after that happened? Everything on my cluster still works. Hoping mine is repairable but might have to replace clusters and re program.
Would there be any harm done in either of the following procedures?

) Remove the key from the ignition.
b) Disconnect both battery cables from the battery, removing the negative cable first.
c) Connect the positive and negative battery cables together for approximately 5 minutes. This will drain all of the capacitors in the computers and forces them to cold reboot.
d) Reconnect the battery cables to the battery, installing the positive cable first.

Sorry to hear about this. I picked up a 2000 C2 Cab in September and was going to hook up my Durametric to see if there were any over Rev’s (I have been told though this isn’t a problem with Tiptronics because the electronics will prevent over revs .)
I saw a similar thread over on Renntech and the reset technique you described above was suggested. I worked for that member, hopefully you get lucky.
Have you reached out to Durametric? I contacted them a year ago to inquire about a minor issue with my Cayenne, no reply. Nevertheless it couldn’t hurt to try and contact them.
