Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone, I recently replaced all the control arms ,swaybar links and bushes, shocks, inner and outer tie rods on my 2002 C2. I marked the position of the nuts on the shock tower so I could get it relatively close to same setting. I counted the turns on the tie rods so I could replicate during re install. And I have a serious toe out issue. Yes ,I am taking it to the shop for an alignment. I was attempting to drive to the shop as the ride would be short but the steering was fast to turn in and would think about it for a sec before turning back . Not good. What would cause the toe out if just replacing parts .

POST 2Original post

Ride height will affect toe. There can also be variances in parts dimensions. I have heard of some aftermarket lower control arms that were quite a bit off in dimensions from stock parts. If you didn’t change ride height, I’d suggest this might be something to look at.

POST 3Original post

I had a similar experience after doing a suspension refresh. I bought a couple of those DIY alignment plates with tape measures, made adjustments and went for a drive. It still felt off but I read that the new components take a little time to settle. A little more driving and some bumps later and it felt better. At least enough that I felt like I could drive it 30 miles to the alignment shop. You may want to try a string or plate alignment if its really out and the shop is more than just around the corner.
