I did a search and I only found one thread on this. There was never a consensus as to if this is the cosmetic aero additions to the base 996, or if it were a mechanical package comprised of some engine/trans/suspension goodies. If you have guesses I'd like to hear, if you actually KNOW, I would love to hear about it. Car has the aero package from factory but does NOT show the XXA type entries in the option group. Hmmmmmm

Sweet, so it has nothing to do with the cosmetics. Wonder what option code is for the aero, if not the XAA and other stuff about the body bits?

That appears to be the case in this car. The option is not on the sticker, but the aero stuff is on the car. I did the PPI yesterday, found a few things that aren't that important. The most important part, no metal debris in the oil pan. The only thing I found that needs some love is the left side cam cover. There's lots of scuffing on the front lower air dam, but my buddy says this is typical for an aero car, and if I fix it, the scuffing will be back in 500 miles. He's prolly right. I wasn't happy with the condition of the steering wheel but maybe some rejuvinator will make it come back. If not, I'll need to find a cover for that.
