Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Focal seems to be the speaker of choice for them, but they can probably recommend other solutions.
Leading evidence: 'Recommend other solutions' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hey guys
want to add door speakers to my car, I have the needed door cards,
there seem to be 2 types of speakers
question 1: are they interchangeable
question 2: which are better and why
there are these (BOSE I suppose)
and these (stock?)
the speakers themselves probably will be replaced as well, main interest in the housings (if they sound more or less ok then will leave them)
thanks in advance
I don't know what your budget is, but CAI has already figured out how to get the best sound.

For smaller budgets I'm not sure. I am an audiophile, having spent more on audio equipment over the past 25 years that I've spent on my 996. Upgrading from the stock 220 head unit to a late model Kenwood double-din 9902 that included a 7 band eq really helped the Bose speakers. It now sounds reasonable enough that I'm not sure I will spend any more money on the stereo. (stock Bose and stock amp) There is only so far you can push audio quality in a Cab, and a 911 flat 6 at that before hitting the 80/20 rule.
I have zero interest in CAI except as a very happy customer. They specialize in 911s, so they know what works and what probably won't work.
Here is a great budget speaker solution write-up.

It's a Tang band and Alpine speaker setup. I put this setup in my cab and am very happy with it.
Good find. I have the Bose system and I find there is way too much mid-bass. It sounds sloppy. With the 7-band EQ, I can tone down all of the lower and mid bass and boost the mid range and treble. This is MUCH better than what I could accomplish with the stock Becker.
Does the Tang Band and Alpine further flatten the frequency response and sharpen the bass? I like accurate bass, not loud bass.
I'm also not really thrilled about spending another $1K to $2K on speakers. I'd rather put that money towards coil-overs or IMS upgrade.
