I was driving my 02 996 Targa today as I usually do. I�ve never had any issues with it, and over the year I�ve had it, I�ve gotten pretty good at launching from a standstill. But today, over the course of 2 mins, I stalled 2-3 times when launching at a green light. After my last stall, I restarted the car and chugged to the side of the road. After a bit of time, I tried again and made it home smoothly. Would anyone know what could be causing this? I�m not discounting the possibilities: - maybe I was just �off� for those 2mins and subconsciously let off the clutch earlier than I usually do, or - maybe I was in 3rd when I thought I was in 1st. But this seems unlikely to have happened 2-3 times in a row

Could be your crank position sensor getting old and when it gets hot its stalling your car. Really just a guess - get a PIWIS on it and see if there are any codes. CPS will usually throw a code. Could also be MAF sensor

Happened to me as well. Was stalling at traffic lights after a hot start. Days later, it was stalling at the point of hot engine start. It cranked, turned over but stalled immediately. Once I let the car sit overnight, it started without any issue. Replaced both the CPS and MAF since I also had idling issues. Car has been working like a champ for close to a year now. Hoping it stays this way!

Sure. It just means it is not the first start of the day. It's a second or more engine crank and start, usually after a duration of spirited drive, and the engine and coolant temp is at warm operating levels.
