Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I realize this will offend the Porsche gods.. I am half way through a 3,000 mile round trip up to visit family in PA, and at my moms house I remembered that I had an old wing off of a car I had when I was like 20... Loved that car... took the original 2.5L 4 cylinder out and put in a 3800SC engine from a wrecked GrandPrix. Changed it from boring blue to interesting red..... Anyway... when the car rusted out so badly that it was hopelessly gone underneath, and the strut towers needed replaced and the floor boards... and and.. I scrapped it. But I saved the wing. And just for fun.... Not so bad actually. Perfect width. Though of course would need lots of fab work to be well integrated. Though now I have fully offended the Porsche gods.... I hope I don't get struck by lightning on the way home. And yeah, I put the wing inside the car for the trip back to Florida. Never know when it might come in handy...

POST 3Original post

Hah, love it!!!!!! Good on you, but hey, let's keep the P Gods happy and just mount the wing on your wall in the man-cave..

I agree, putting in a 3800SC into the Fiero could be considered offensive by purists.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19124117

That's a pretty good idea. I do have fond memories of the car that wing came from.. as well as the contortionist girlfriends from that era also. So evoking those memories on my man-cave wall isn't a bad idea at all.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19124317

I hadn't noticed, but you are right. The shape of the top section is nearly identical when seen in profile.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The big downside of this wing is less its shape and more that it is quite heavy. Feels like rather thick fiberglass. Though it ought to be durable.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19124138

If there is one car community that embraces any and all modifications it is the Fiero community. One of the things I miss about that group are all the crazy mods people did to them. Usually not the best quality ones, but just insane levels of creativity. Cheap cars, and lots of common parts exchange across GM led to some really fun stuff. I have thought about getting another one just to play with, but then I sit in one and remember just how cheaply they are made... so the memories are better left alone.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19124896

Definitely drag increasing... so a DIS wing. .... "dis wing is a DIS wing.." ok too many shots to be on a keyboard tonight.

POST 15Original post

I will play along. Would you disable the wing that rises? If you afix it, when it rises it would look odd?

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19125133

I wouldn't use the same deck or existing articulated wing. If I did decide to use it, I would need a whole different deck lid setup with rams that raise straight up. Otherwise it would look really silly because it would be tilted forward when raised. so yeah you are right there for sure. I am only half considering using the wing.

And balance it out with a new front splitter, lmao.

POST 18Original post

Yes, you need the front lip spoiler from the GT3 to keep the front end planted at speed.

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 19124808

If the blade is more than 12 lbs, probably not what you want, but it would look cool on risers. Children would run at your approach!

POST 20Original post

Like i said it might look good with cup style upright. I can confirm...the kids do come running at the c&c. My car
