Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Some time ago the one of the aftermarket LED DRLs installed by a previous owner of. my 03 C4S stopped working. Indie looked at it last week while I was having motor and gearbox mounts replaced. Said the unit was out. We agreed to remove them. The were wired into the driver's side. Pick up the car yesterday, and now the entire left headlamp/turn is dead. It was popped out to inspect what was going on with the DRLs. I got the tool out, popped it out, hit the contacts w/ cleaner, then re-seated. Nothing. The other thing is that while doing this, I had lights on for about 5 mins while checking this, engine off. Twenty mins later, car won't turn over. Dash lights and stereo will come on - just not enough to turn over the engine. Taking it back to the indie today. For anyone who's doing aftermarket DRLs, anything especially to look at or look for?

Check you internal headlight harness for bare wires causing a short. Wire insulation biodegrades a little too fast...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Postscript - just ended up being the plug wasn't attaching correctly. Mechanic ended up pulling back the fender liner to make sure it seated by hand.
