Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In another post, I mentioned installing Hibachi sway bars and keeping stock springs and fairly new B4's installed by previous owner.
Leading evidence: 'Install by previous owner' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install by previous owner' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My '04 C2 (w/ 76k) is ready for a suspension refresh. Im fine with the current stock height / road feel. No plans for track/ cross/ canyon carving (at least for now). Bilstein B4's seem to be an overwhelming consensus.
My Indy mechanic is suggesting Front B4's and Rear B6's--saying the 6's will compensate for the extra rear weight. Sounds reasonable, but I cannot find anything on this Blog or any other about that approach. My gut says there may be balance / handling issues--but my Gut not a mechanic.
Be great to hear from anyone thats done it, and/or has an informed take on it.
Much appreciated.
Well, you can always try it. But what is your mechanic talking about? Porsche did all the thinking about “the extra rear weight” when they engineered the suspension. B4 is the overwhelming consensus from what sources?
Get the mechanic to guarantee he’ll swap a pair for free labor (and new alignment) when you don’t like the push from the softer fronts relative to the better grip of rear end. If you want a ‘plush’ ride, stick with B4 on all four corners. They’ll work fine for DD duties. For better than B4 OE spec, get some Koni Special Actives. The 411 is you get USA Standard comfort with better handling. And the Koni cost 25% less.

Appreciate your insight and advice. Will look into the Koni's . B4 seemed to be consensus for a stock 'plush' ride from Rennlist forums, PCA forums, and several wrench monkeys I asked. Maybe 'Overwhelming' was too strong a word...
B4's are the Bilstein OEM replacement. B6's are a sportier version, but still designed for stock springs. Each product is designed to be used in sets. I would tend to go with B6's all around for a little extra damping. In any case I would not mix.
In another post, I mentioned installing Hibachi sway bars and keeping stock springs and fairly new B4's installed by previous owner. As these wear, I'll go to B6's.
Bottom line....don't mix.

In another post, I mentioned installing Eibach sway bars and keeping stock springs and fairly new B4's installed by previous owner. As these wear, I'll go to B6's.

That indy must have a pair of B4s and a pair of B6s on the shelf and wants to use them, cause that explanation is ridiculous. Choose one and don't mix.
I found B6's cheaper than B4's...so that and all the feedback on the B6 pushed me that way and I'm happy. Mine is just a DD, so maybe I didn't the extra "sportiness". Perhaps the more expensive B4 would have been more plush. I also acknowledge that I went from 18 year old OEM with 80,000 miles to the new B6's.
I like the sound of this option compared to the B4 or B6. B4 ride quality for daily driving, B6 (or better) responsiveness when the curvy bits show up.
