This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am curious if anyone has installed these and if worth the upgrade over the plastic factory ones. https://lnengineering.com/rauch-spiegel-515-352-billet-aluminum-spark-plug-tube-for-porsche-boxster-and-996-models.html Thanks Joey

POST 2Original post

I cant imagine its worth it. The plastic tubes dont generally fail...its the o-rings.

POST 3Original post

PA66/GF35 Polymer at an evevated constant temperature of 275F has a life expectancy of 37 to 45 years, longer life at lower temperatures.. Agree with DeJeeper, the o-rings are what usually fail....

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you both. Stick with the OEM ones. Joey

POST 5Original post

In most cases the original tubes will break when being removed to have the O rings serviced. Thats where these tubes become a good value, if you intend to keep the car for decades.

Do you rent out the puller/installer or is it purchase only on it. Joey

POST 7Original post

The lighter wallet should compensate the weight increase

Uhh, In "most cases" the original tubes will NOT break when being removed. Have had my original tubes out three times. $40 vs $3 each is not a good value, even in a hundred years.

POST 9Original post

I had a tube break when removing mine from my Boxster M96/25 so I could rebuild it.
